Terms of use
These cover this website. The licence for a purchased copy of HR IQ is a separate document, and section 8 says where it comes from.

1Who this site belongs to
HR IQ and this website are created and supplied by Matt Laframboise, in Ontario, Canada. Contact: matt@theraspberry.ca.
No company is registered for this business yet. When one is, this page names it.
2Using this site
You may read it, quote it with attribution, and link to it. Please do not republish it wholesale as your own, scrape it at a rate that degrades it for other people, or use it to train or fine-tune a machine-learning model.
There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to buy on this site. The form on the home page opens your own email program; see the privacy page for exactly what that does.
3This is training, not legal advice
HR IQ teaches Ontario employment law as it applies to human resources practice, and the site describes that teaching. Neither is legal advice, neither creates a solicitor-client relationship, and neither replaces your own counsel.
The product includes tools that generate working drafts of real employment documents — termination letters, discipline records, accommodation plans. Those are starting points for a professional to exercise judgement on. They are not vetted documents, they do not know the facts of your matter, and a decision affecting a real person should have a qualified person behind it.
The law changes. Content is written and dated; nothing here promises it reflects the position as at the moment you read it.
4The designation boundary
The CHRP, CHRL and CHRE are protected professional titles. They are granted by the Human Resources Professionals Association, which is a regulatory body, and only HRPA decides who holds one.
HR IQ provides:
- independent designation-pathway guidance;
- competency-based education and coursework reinforcement;
- original practice questions written for this product;
- application-development, portfolio and experience-tracking tools.
HR IQ does not, and this site does not claim that it does:
- award, grant or confer the CHRP, CHRL or CHRE;
- guarantee or lead to designation approval;
- satisfy HRPA’s coursework requirement — only HRPA decides that;
- reproduce actual or recalled HRPA examination items. Every question in the product is original, and real examination content is confidential and protected.
Any certificate the product issues records what a learner completed inside HR IQ. It says so on its face, and it states that it is not a professional designation and is not granted by, affiliated with or endorsed by any regulatory body.
Figures describing HRPA’s own process — examination lengths, required experience, continuing-development hours, passing thresholds — describe someone else’s requirements and can change without notice. Verify them against HRPA’s current published requirements.
5Jurisdiction
HR IQ is anchored to Ontario: the Employment Standards Act, 2000, the Human Rights Code, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Labour Relations Act, 1995, and to HRPA as the Ontario regulator. Elsewhere in Canada the designation is the CPHR and a different body grants it. If you practise outside Ontario, the law described here is not your law.
6What the site says about the product
The counts, figures and claims on this site describe the product as built and are kept in step with it. Where something is not yet verified by an outside reviewer, we say so rather than letting the silence read as assurance — the designation-preparation material ships switched off pending review by an HRPA member, and the product says that too.
The product publishes an accessibility statement that makes no conformance claim and names what has and has not been tested. It travels with every copy.
7Intellectual property
The curriculum, lexicon, case summaries, practice questions, tools, software and design are © 2026 Matt Laframboise. All rights reserved. Third-party components included in the product are listed with their licences in the files supplied with it.
Names of statutes, decisions and organisations are used descriptively. HRPA, CHRP, CHRL and CHRE belong to the Human Resources Professionals Association and are used here only to describe what this product prepares people for.
8The product licence is a separate document
This page governs your use of this website. It is not the licence for HR IQ, and nothing on it grants a right to use the product.
A purchased copy comes with its own terms covering the licence grant, what a seat means, updates, support and the limits of liability. Those are supplied with the purchase. If you have received a copy of HR IQ without them, write to us before relying on the product.
9No warranty for this site, and what we are responsible for
This website is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption or free of error, and we are not liable for a decision taken on the strength of a marketing page.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the laws of Canada applying in it, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction.
